Turtle

Neutral Positions

Turtle is the defensive shell: on knees and elbows, head tucked, with the front of the body hidden from the partner. It is genuinely neutral — the bottom partner has given up open attacking options but is not pinned, and the top partner has the back available but not yet taken. Nobody stays here long.
