Standard Side Control - Bottom
Non-DominantStandard Side Control
You are underneath, and the first thing to protect is space, not position. Get your frames in early — forearm into the hip, elbow tight to your own ribs — and never let your near elbow get pinned above their shoulder line. From there you work back onto your side to recover guard or escape to the turtle. Losing the frames is what turns an uncomfortable position into a submission.
Control
Maintain your position and neutralize your partner's attempts to escape or advance.
