North-South

North-South is a top pin taken from the partner's head rather than their side, chest over chest with the bodies pointing in opposite directions. Because the pressure runs down through the shoulders and face instead of across the ribs, the usual side-to-side escapes do not apply, and the bottom partner has to deal with it in a different way than any other pin.
